Whats in a name?

Hello All!

As we get more involved with both Hazel and Augustus in Chapter 3 I thought it might be interesting to look into their names. What can we learn from the names of these characters? I have posted a a little information, but please feel free to offer your own suggestions by commenting on this post below.

When asked about why he chose the name Hazel, John Green has said,
“Hazel is the space beteeen two colors which I like.”

Augustus is the name of the first emperor of the Roman Empire, and is a name that carries the grandeur of an illustrious history with it.

Hello All!

In The Fault in Our Stars chapter 2 Augustus likens Hazel to “a millennial Natalie Portman. Like V for Vendetta Natalie Portman.” For those of you who are not familiar with this film here is a quick look at Natalie Portman! Let’s take this portrayal to the polls!

For all of you readers who are interested in reading about the ideas of oblivion like August and Hazel, “Imperial Affliction” is not the book for you. This book is in fact a fictional story made up by John Green.
